Breads

For our ancestors, baking bread was a part of survival.  Before you were able to buy bread in a

store, it was usually made at home, sometimes every day.  I know my grandmother put the

mornings' leftover biscuits in a pot with a lid to be consumed for lunch or dinner.  That was also the

days before ziptop bags and plastic wrap.

Now we are able to make a variety of breads with different flours, flavors and textures.  The

amazing thing is, we are rediscovering some of the old methods that were used years ago.  And

getting back to the basics and goodness of making homemade breads for our families.  It brings

me joy when I can produce something that can nourish my family without all the "extras" in it.
